Joy!

Here is a poem by Jack Hayford
from Come And Behold Him
A crystal punch bowl sparkles in the candlelight…
Tree lights reflect a spectrum on the windowpane…
Visions of sugarplums dance in children’s dreams…
Joy!
A spontaneous embrace is filled with
grateful affection…
The warmth of a relationship renewed
by a simple greeting card…
Mom and dad share a deep closeness as they watch
their children playing with new toys…
Joy!
Potpourri fills the house with the
scent of the season…
Cider tingles on the tongues of carolers just
finishing their rounds…
Loved ones, filled with lazy satisfaction following the
holiday dinner, surround the hearth…
Joy!
And most joyous of all…He is with us.

I am taking a break from blogging until after Christmas…
May God bless you and your families with a very
Merry Christmas as we all celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ!

One of our family traditions which begins in December and continues throughout the entire winter is Hot Chocolate Buffet. It is the easiest thing in the world to prepare and we’ve made many memories at the Singleton Buffet.
Continued from yesterday’s post:
One of my favorite pastors (other than Rob who will always be my #1) is Chuck Swindoll. Here is one of his insights for Christmas:
The kids spent Thursday at the Headquarters for Operation Christmas Child (The Christmas Shoeboxes) eager to find even more families who are in need so that “we can help them and tell them about the love of Jesus.”
This past Saturday night I found myself in a rare situation. I was home alone with Nathan. Juliana was at a sleepover and Rob was working so I had my son all to myself. This rarely happens.
Like most mothers, my days are packed. I start early and end late and there is rarely any down time. This was the case for my Sunday morning. Rob left ahead of us and the kids and I got in the car……and it wouldn’t start. Ugh! There is never a convenient time for car trouble.
The day after Thanksgiving is the day the Singletons pull out the Christmas Decorations and Deck the Halls! We play Christmas music and sip hot chocolate as we hang our ornaments on the tree.
